What is local-first digital signage?

A guide to local-first signage architecture and why cached playback matters for store displays.

Local-first signage means the player keeps a local copy of approved content so it can continue showing that content when the network is unstable.

Why it matters

Screens are public. A failed screen is visible immediately, while a failed content update from the content management system (CMS) may not be discovered until later.
